My limbs fall asleep when I am sleeping...?

My limbs fall asleep when I am sleeping...?
I had surgery on my left shoulder years ago and I didn't work so could that have something to do with it. My right leg was asleep too. It woke me up and I could not go back to sleep until they were awake again. I literally could not move my leg.

  1. It would be a factor on the side you had the surgery, but the leg too doesn't make sense. You need to go to a different surgeon and get an evaluation to see what is causing it. You really should have gone back as soon as you knew the surgery wasn't helping. Depending on how your insurance company looks at the problem, you might also have a problem that way. Even with the fact that you're allowed a second opinion it's usually acknowledged within a certain time frame. I've seen some companies get really touchy sometimes. Good luck and I hope you find out the problem soon. Source(s): nursing experience
