Random bruises all over?

Random bruises all over?
I have random bruises all over my legs, all kinds of colors and shapes and sizes. I've never been the one to bruise easily at all. I'm also starting to get some on my upper arms and such. Is this a symptom of something, or is it possible I'm like.. beating myself in my sleep?

  1. Are you taking a medication that is a blood thinner? Either way, I'd be seeing the doctor ASAP. Source(s): 2 years CNA, 7 years EMT

  3. There's probably something wrong with your blood. I don't want to freak you out, but it's a symptom of leukemia. See a doctor

  4. Well it is possible that you sleep walk and hurt your self but that is highly unlikly unless your family has a history of sleeping problems. It might as easy as you have a poor diet or as worse as an early sign a bein a diabetic. You need to go to your doctor and have them take a look at it.

  7. no..you might have something wrong and you need to see a Dr NOW...diabetes, Lupus, leukemia, MS and a few other things will cause you to bruise easily (including anemia and taking too much aspirin)

  8. I think it is a symptom of various things but the one that comes to mind is iron deficiency anemia; you might want to look it up. Also I would say this merits calling the doctor.

  9. "The presence of bruises may be seen in patients with platelet or coagulation disorders. Unexplained bruising may be a warning sign of child abuse or domestic abuse or serious medical problems, such as leukemia and meningoccocal infection. Unexplained bruising could indicate internal bleeding or certain types of cancer. Also long term glucocorticoid therapy can cause easy bruising. If bruising is present around the umbilicus (belly button) with severe abdominal pain, this may suggest acute pancreatitis."In other words, go see a doctor!
