i love these people who answer that heart rate should be 72 heart beats or 70 to 75 lol WAAAAYYYY too specific. shows the kid of knowlege people have who answer on here. everyone's heart rate is different based on age, size of the person, heart health, any illnesses etc. The norm is between 60-100 for an adult. This is what medical and nursing texts will tell you. 60 might be the norm for one person and 100 for another. And yes, 120, if it is AT REST, it high. I'd get that checked out. It might mean you're dehydrated, your blood pressure is too low etc. Source(s): i'm a nurse
No, that's significantly higher than normal. The average resting heart rate is roughly 70-75 beats per minute. The most usual reason for a high resting rate is due to being overweight and/or being in poor physical condition. On the other hand, if you are already normal weight, it is more likely to be due to some underlying health condition. The best thing to do is talk to your doctor or a health care professional.
On average, it should beat 72 times a minute. Females maybe 76-80 per minute. 120 is excessively high for a resting heart rate. You should get that checked....

ReplyDeleteno no no no no no it is not supposed to beat that fast, unless maybe you checked it after exercise, but i would go have that checked...... very soon
