Omg, I feel like I'm dying.. help?

Omg, I feel like I'm dying.. help?
Last Wednesday, I went to the doctors and was diagnosed with strep. He prescribed me some anti-biotics and I took them till Saturday (I know, I know! I'm suppose to keep taking them even though I feel better.) Anyways, on Saturday night I went out with some friends but came home with a really bad cough. I assumed it was the cold, but it got worse. My colds only lasts for 2-4 days but it just kept getting worse. It's been almost a week and I feel miserable, the OTC medicine doesn't help either... for the past two days I've waken up and my eyes are covered with the sleeping crusts you get, except its more than usual and covers up the whole eye. My eyes are pretty red, my cough is pretty bad, and in the morning I'm coughing up mucous. Can anyone help me and tell me what I should do? I tried gargling salt water but that sure didn't help... I don't have a fever but the pressure and congestion is starting to kill me!

  3. you are supposed to take the entire prescription of antibiotics, even after you feel better. you should always finish the whole bottle.looks like you have to go back to the doctor.

  11. You may have to get stronger anit biotics. You should never stop taking them until their gone for one really good reason. If you stop taking it when you start feeling better, the virus may still be alive in you because you didn't take them all to kill it. That is how new strains of virus are born that are resistant if not completely immune to the anti biotics you were taking because they can adapt to the medicine if you don't take it all to kill them.

  12. It appears that you may be having a severe allergy reaction. Please see your doctor immediately!

  13. Call your doctor and tell him/her this. You may need an anti-congestive type medication to open your passageways so you can breathe and eliminate some of that pressure. People tend to get sinus infections in conjunction with strep. If your throat is not swollen, still continue to take your medicine, if in a couple days that throat is still swollen and painful, call your doctor and tell him/her your medicine needs changed. good luck, hope you feel better.

  15. The reason you're supposed to take the antibiotics for the full term is that some bacteria don't get killed during those first few days. Those are the most resilient bacteria of the bunch. So now what you've done is killed off the weak and allowed the strong to reproduce. You should definitely go back in to the doctor's office; they might prescribe a stronger antibiotic which you should take according to the directions. You could be on your way to something much more serious like pneumonia.

  16. Your step throat will NOT go away without the antibodies! You have to take them all, on the times and amount is says to do! I had step throat before, and didn't know. After a week I was puking every min of the day, untill I finally went to get checked out..It was HORRIBLE!Finish the medication it's the only way! You might have to go back to the doc, get it checkout out again, and start the medication all over again!

  17. it might be pink eye. whenever i get pink eye i get red eyes and (i know its gross) but crust comes out of your eyes more than usual, and theres no fever. i don't know about the coughing though, but if you think it's pink eye go to the doctor right away so they can give you eyedrops!
