  1. Don't be afraid, is the best thing you could do, go an get check before it gets worse. Anyway you won't feel pain at all, if needed you will get some sedatives. So just go and find out whatever is best for you!! Good Luck!!A neurologist is a medical doctor or osteopath who has trained in the diagnosis and treatment of nervous system disorders, including diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. Advertising DisclaimerNeurologists perform neurological examinations of the nerves of the head and neck; muscle strength and movement; balance, ambulation, and reflexes; and sensation, memory, speech, language, and other cognitive abilities. They also perform diagnostic tests such as the following:CAT (computed axial tomography) scan MRI/MRA (magnetic resonance imaging/magnetic resonance angiography) lumbar puncture (spinal tap) EEG (electroencephalography) EMG/NCV (electromyography/nerve conduction velocity)

  2. Your visit to a neurologist is going to be very uneventful. He will take your history and perform a brief exam (external). After that he will prob send you for testing. That's usually an MRI or CAT scan. They are both noninvasive. The CAT scan is loud and can make your head hurt from the noise but they give you head phones to make it better. Neurologists are prob the least invasive specialists there are. The only time they do something painful or invasive is surgery and that is well after all other possibilities have been explored.

  3. Going to see a neurologist isn't like seeing your regular family doctor. he'll do a neurological exam so check your reflexes and hav a look at your eyes, he'll ask you questons and you may need a cat scan which doesn't hurt and you can sleep in it if you want. The scan takes between 10-15 minutes.
