What causes leg cramps ?

What causes leg cramps ?
my calf has been cramping a lot lately... usually right when i'm about to fall asleep or when i'm waking up. the pain is unbearable. what causes it and how can i prevent it ?

  1. I had the same problem when I was underweight.Two main causes are lack of potassium and improper hydration.Eat a few bananas a day and drink plenty of water and you will find your cramps will diminish and then stop.

I'm 18 & this happens to me 24/7.Its usually because of Magensium Defiencancys, Iron deficiancys.. pretty much all defienancys.I have Restless Leg Syndrome, Anxiety, and scoliosis.Talk to your doctor asap. He can find the root of the problem and fix it.Try taking some magnesium supplements, melatonin supplements, and if you want, Valarian Root.I don't know much about Valiariun Root but.. i heard it helps.Try taking hot baths, wrap a heating pad around your leg...oh and...ICYHOT! icy hot is AMAZING for leg cramps.I hope this helps.Email me if you want to talk or have any questions.
