Why does my right eye hurt when I blink?

Why does my right eye hurt when I blink?
Last night I didn't sleep really good and today when I woke up, my right eye hurt when I blinked. I thought it was an eyelash but it wasn't.

I also go on the computer a lot if that might have something to cause it.

Please help me! I'm scared it might be an eye infection!

  1. You could have a stye forming on your eyelid. If you scratched the sclera (the white part) of your eye, it would hurt whether you blinked or not and would heal quickly, the doctor usually puts a patch on your eye for that scenerio. Don't be afraid because any eye irritation generally can be healed with medicine fairly quickly. I have no reference, these are just things that have happened to me in the past.WARNING: If it is painful in the sunlight, don't ever think about putting a patch over your eye!!!!!! I was out of town and woke up one day with my eye in extreme pain. When I walked outside and the sunlight hit my face, I almost dropped to the ground. I was on my way to the drug store to put a patch on my eye to keep the sun out. I called a Doctor to make an appoinment while I was in the drugstore and thank the Lord i told them what I was doing because it hurt sooooo bad in the sunlight and the doctor's office said DON"T EVER COVER YOUR EYE. If I had, the infection would have spread and I could have gone blind in that eye. I was lucky. Go to an opthamologist, not an optician and they will help you. Don't be scared of the infection, just call and tell them what happened and they should take you right away.Best Wishes

  2. This might be because of your eyes strained lot. Reduce the working hours with computer and watcahing TV. Sleep minimum 7hours at nights. Avoid late sleep. Try go for bed as possible as early by 9 in evenings.
