Could i use a non-waterproof vibrator for insertion (innie use)? Could it get damaged when i get wet?

Could i use a non-waterproof vibrator for insertion (innie use)? Could it get damaged when i get wet?

I often even leave it inside me when i 'do it' with my bf and obviously it will get even more wet after that.. I am worried if it could affect the performance/operation of the unit. Thanks.
