it is called the uvula and the two little balls that are on both sides of it are the tonsilsif it hurts and it is swollen you probably have strep you should see a doctore about ithe might consider you having surgery but it is nothing serious; you just have tonsilities he will surgically remove them it is normal btw Source(s): my sister had surgery last week
That is your uvula, and yes, it can get inflammed and be called uvulitis. It looks like you have a bubble in your mouth, and is only life-threatening if it's causing problems with your breathing. I would, however, go see your doctor as soon as possible though. Hope you feel better!
That is your tonsils (seems weird now trying to type it since I don't know if it's tonsil or tonsils), and yes,when it swells up, you have to get it taken out. One of my sisters used to have problems with her tonsils swelling up. Hers used to make her nose bleed all the time for some reason. So, she got it removed when she was somewhere around age 10 or so.
